Cake vs. Cupcakes

I'm taking a poll!!

Lil Man's birthday is Monday. (MY BABY IS TURNING 2!!!!!....anyway).

I'm trying to decide between buying a cake or doing cupcakes. We're having a small party at our house Sunday afternoon with just family and a few close friends.

(I sent my husband a message just now to get his opinion...... "Either one. You can make either one your choose. You okay with that?")

The man is telling me to bake whichever I decide to do. ***EYE ROLL***

Back to the poll...... what do you ladies think?

I really don't like the idea of blowing out a candle on a cake that everybody is going to eat....hence the cupcakes. Individual servings. No worry of germ infestation.

I'm doing cupcakes with little decorations on them for B's birthday (see my recent post).

Oh, and they are gluten-free cupcakes. :)

I am SO with you on kids blowing out candles on cake everyone is eating!

I always do cupcakes. I make vanilla and Chocolate...then people have their pick...and there will be leftovers! :)

I pick cupcakes!

I vote for cupcakes. Little enough for the little ones to eat and you can make a variety of frosting colors, etc.

I always have to order at 1/2 sheet cake from the local bakery - My family is huge, and there is no less than 25 people (or more) when we do birthdays.

But, this year, in addition to the cake, I baked cupcakes for the kids. I did it because, I spent a pretty penny for my daughter's layered, filled, b-day cake, and the kids waste more than they eat.

SO - after that long winded comment - BOTH! or, if you don't want to do both...then cupcakes. Less waste.

I did cupcakes this year and made Mason's in a ramakin so it was a little bigger and then I put them on a cupcake tree.....worked for us!!

I'm all about the cupcakes. I think they are way easier to give to each person and they can be decorated to make a larger picture so they don't just look individual.
