Today was a milestone.
I was dropping Lil Man off at school and before I left asked his teacher a question. When I got ready to leave, Lil Man acted as though he wasn't going to let me go (which is the normal routine). Ms G (his teacher) started to get up to get her hands on him so I could leave.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT???
My child threw up his hand, said "Bye!", and walked into his room to go play with his classmates.
Ms G: "He just said 'Bye'!" (Let me say she was excited and as shocked as I was.)
Me: half way yelling "Bye Baby!" and grinning like a fool.
Two months!! That's how long it took for this day to happen. I was almost in tears when I got to the car. I haven't once wanted to cry ...... not on the first day and not any day when I was leaving him crying. But today, knowing my child was cool and going into his class happy. Tears!
It's a good day!!!

You also have "happy tears" because you know he is in such good hands and being well taken care of. I'm so happy Cason is enjoying school. Yea!!
Yay for Cason!! I know it makes you feel better about leaving him now that he is "okay" with it!
Hooray! So glad for HIM and for YOU! (though it is a little sad in a happy sort of way).
Yay! It finally happened!
AW ! Look at it this way, baby just LOVES his mama. Some day he won't want anything to do with you and you'll long for the days when he cried every time you left! :)
Just stumbled upon your blog, and I had to comment-- what a cute story! It brought tears to my eyes just reading it, because I think as a parent, as much as we want our kids to be independent, every step they take on their own is one more step away from us! I feel you!
