I have to say I was disappointed with the way it turned out. I had this party all planned with 30-35 people coming to the house...... a SURPRISE party!
THEN......
The weatherman opened his big mouth and ruined it all. The predictions varied..... 2"-3" of snow/sleet/ice up to 6". What the hell was I supposed to do?
Friday morning a decision had to be made because I had to finish all the grocery shopping. Was I going to take the chance knowing the odds were we wouldn't get anything and spend a good deal of $$$ on food and drinks........ or call it off.
I caved and told The Hubby what I had planned. We made the decision to cancel all the people who didn't actually live in our neighborhood. This still left us with 8 couples coming and now with their kiddos. We were still going to party but not quite as big and the craziness would be compounded with children.
Party we did!
Cake time!!
Some friends enjoying cake.
The kids having a blast with all the toys in the middle of the living room floor.
I know I know I know.... look at what my child is wearing. I never got around to putting cute clothes on him. For the first 2 hours he wouldn't leave my side, and I had to hold him most of that time. I love my child dearly but he is not a people person. He is getting better but I really think he just has the personality that he could care less if he's around others or not.
And a small FYI: if the temperature is below freezing, your gas lines for your propane cookers might just freeze. Which means cooking will take a hell of a lot longer and make the hostess start to freak out..... to the point of making plans to order pizza to feed everyone. Lesson learned the HARD way.
And the roads were fine so everyone could have come. BUT, it did start snowing right as people were arriving. ***EYE ROLL*** Dear Weather, Just make up your ever loving mind!
