" A friend is one to whom one may pour out all the contents of one's heart, chaff and grain together, knowing that the gentlest of hands will take and sift it, keep what is worth keeping and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away." - Arabian Proverb
Friendship is on my mind this morning. Last night was Ladies' Night..... and I just read a fav blogger of mine talking about where to find a good friend.
How I found this friends....more like how we found each other. We all live in the same neighborhood and moved in roughly at the same time. All I know is the Good Lord blessed me with these lovely ladies to which I thank him for each day. We're all different but deep down where it counts... we're sisters. Age doesn't matter because we range from mid 50's to mid 20's. We can pour out our hearts.... if advice is needed, advice is given. If listening is all that's wanted, ears are open. I know how blessed I am to have these ladies. And when I think about them, I usually think about what my dad says when I tell him it's Ladies' Night. He always says while shaking his head, "I just don't get it. Your group is so random. Y'all just don't go together." I, in turn, always laugh because it's true. That just goes to show you to never close off someone just because your friendship might be "outside the box." Who the hell cares if it should "fit"??!!
Here's to knowing what you have in a friend/friends and knowing how lucky you are!
