THE story of ALL stories

Today, our Sunday School lesson was a story most of us has heard every year since we can remember.  The story of Jesus birth.  It comes from Luke 2:1-20.  If you haven't ever sat down and read this scripture, please do.  In my opinion, it's one of the most simple yet profound stories in the Bible.

Our Savior is born!....... "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

As we enter this last week before Christmas, things are going to get crazy.  Truthfully, since Thanksgiving things have been crazy for most.  I know they have been for us.  Everyone is trying to find those last gifts to wrap up their shopping.... parties galore.

Remember though..... The true reason for the season is our Christ Savior Jesus.  He is the reason for the season. I'll be the first to admit I'm looking forward to Christmas Day almost as much as anyone.  It will be LM's first Christmas that he "gets" it.  He's so excited about Santa and gifts.  While he's talking about Santa, toys and all that jazz, we're stressing baby Jesus and his birth.

Christmas is Jesus birthday.  So, we're starting a new tradition for us (aka our children) to keep in mind that it is a birth day.  We're going to have a birthday cake for Jesus!

Again...... read Luke 2:1-20.  Have a wonderful week!!
