whirlwind..... that's just life

The past 5 days have been CRAZY!!...... just crazy I tell ya.

It all started on Sunday night when my dad called to say he and my mom were headed to the hospital.  My MaMa (Dad's mom) had suffered a stroke.... they thought.  With little details, they were off and just wanted to let us know what was up.

Fast forward to Monday morning.... I wake up and call my dad to find out what was going on with MaMa.  His response, "We're pulling into Charleston.  They made the decision at 2:30 to move her down here.  We're 15 minutes behind the ambulance."  The doctors at the local hospital found two aneurysms on each side of her brain.  One was leaking.  Surgery was scheduled for mid afternoon.  Everything went well so the second surgery was performed yesterday afternoon.  Again, everything went smoothly.  Now...... it's a waiting game.  She's be taken off the ventilator because she's able to breathe on her own.

TH and I decided to head down to be there for the second surgery.  My sweet in-laws came up bright and early to stay with the boys and by bright..... they got to our home at 6:30.  We left the house at 7:00 to start our 4 hour drive.  Again.... surgery went smoothly.  Since everything was looking good, TH and I decided we wouldn't stay the night because there's a good chance I'll need to go down some next week to help out..... and I didn't want to leave the boys more than necessary.    We rolled up to the house at 11:00 pm.  Talk about long day.... but that was nothing compared to what my parents, aunt/uncle, and grandfather experienced Sunday through Monday.  Everything with MaMa is looking good.  The next 7 to 10 days are critical for complications..... but, the good Lord has gotten her this far.

Never know what tomorrow will bring.  At the end of each and every day, remember to cherish those you love.
