Of all the nerve! Tuesday night I was trying to put Baby Boy down for bed. Lil Man was downstairs watching a video while I got BB down....... what do I hear? It's 8:15pm now. I hear the doorbell ringing..... then I hear the dog going bananas.... then LM is running around downstairs and headed up to where I am. I was hot!! As in pissed! I was going to ignore it b/c it was my front door which means it's someone other than friend or family. And frankly, they have no business being at my house at 8:15 at night. THEN, the doorbell rang again!
This chick was NOT happy. I went to the door with the dog still going bananas in his ferocious, killer bark while LM was running around now and holding a half asleep baby. My words, "Can I help you?" As soon as I saw the dude, I knew what he was and who he was with...... he got 1/2 a sentence out and I said "It's bedtime here. I'm sorry but I don't have time for this. Too late to come to my door." He might have said "I'm sorry ma'am" before I shut the door in his face. Seriously!?!?
I do NOT like anyone messing with bedtime routine.....even family knows don't call me during 7:30 to 8:30 or 9pm. I won't answer and you'll likely get an annoyed response if I do. It's not that difficult to call before that time and I'd really rather not talk to anyone after that time truthfully. My husband and I are both accessible during the day...... all day long either at our offices or on our cells. Once dinner time rolls around, it's family time. Period! That's the way I roll! An emergency is really and truthfully the only time I would want someone to call. Even my grandmother knows the routine! Ha! She'll call right before dinner lots of times and say " I know it's about dinner time. Call me after the boys go to bed." If I feel like talking, I will..... if not, I'll call her back on my way into the office. Dinner, bath and bedtime is family time. After boys go to bed, that's TH and my time. We workout..... we watch tv..... we do whatever we want to do without the outside world messing with us. My good friends know I'm open to texting at night. If I respond ok, if not..... I'll get with you the next day.
So...... don't come a knockin on my door at night. You won't be received warmly. And Mama Bear will do a little growling. K? Thanks! :)
