This weekend was Alumni Weekend at TH and my college. It was TH's 10 year reunion! So hard to believe it's been 10 years.
As we were strolling through campus with our family, it felt like just yesterday we were there. So many memories came flooding back.
TH and I were telling the boys on the car ride down how it was "our" school. That their Granddaddy, Daddy and Mommy all went to the same school.
We just let the boys run around and enjoy the beautiful campus. I asked TH as we were watching them if it was as pretty as when we were in school as it was today. We agreed it was but that as 20 year olds we just didnt' appreciate it as much.
Lunch was picnic style with TH's fellow classmates, their spouses and children. We joked with a friend that if we could go back we would cherish each day. Not think about all the "stress" we had because really life wasn't stressful in those days.
As we were telling everyone goodbye, I made a promise to myself to bring the boys back down more often. I want to remember those times more often..... it is the place where TH and I met and fell in love. I want the boys to know what a special place it is.
As we get older, we realize how special some things are. Our college days definitely being a special time. Memories to cherish; Friendships to treasure.
And at the end of the day, just having a wonderful day as a family!!
