Helping Hands Charity Dinner

Friday night.... John and I had a night out. We (we meaning Howell Construction) bought a table for a charity dinner hosted by a Clemson University sorority. We went along with my parents and two of our superintendents with their wives. It was a fun night... nothing big just nice to get out w/out the little one. John's mom and dad came up and kept Cason for us. They had a fun time hanging out.

A picture of just the two of us. This doesn't happen very often. Most people just want to see our little one.

The charity was something that struck a chord. It's called "Helping Hands". It's a home for abused and neglected children. I've never heard of it before. I know there are things like this in the area but never actually knew where or what. It's tied in with the United Way organization. Now that I have a child of my own..... hearing and seeing children being neglected and abused just breaks my heart. I'm going to look into seeing if there's any kind of volunteering I can do. I know with Christmas coming up they'll be in need of Christmas gifts so..... I'm going to see what I can do. I am blessed with a great family, good friends and a good job as does John (which is a blessing now in these hard economic times) so as I'm counting my blessings..... I'm going to see what I can do to pass some of my good fortune on!
