Weekend at Gatlinburg

We left last Friday around lunch to head up to Gatlinburg for the weekend. If I had known ahead of time what was to come, I would have followed my gut feeling and not gone. We almost backed out because Lil Man wasn't feeling up to par. As the morning went by though, he seemed to be feeling ok. So the hubby and I decided to head on. The drive up was nice!! We got to see some pretty snow.

Friday night was also the annual "Parade of Lights" in Galtlinburg. This was one of the main reasons we were semi-determined to make the trip. We ended up not taking Lil Man because it was COLD.......I MEAN SERIOUSLY COLD!! I'm a southern girl. If it's less then 30 degrees, I think no one should be outside. It had to be in the low 20's. Anyway.....the hubby and I left our child with my mom (since my dad was sick with what he thought was a mild case of food poisoning. WRONG!! It was a stomach bug. Which he proceeded to pass to EVERYONE!!! I'm still a little resentful if you can't tell.)

The hubby and I enjoying some one-on-one time. I was a wimp. I started complaining about 30 minutes into the parade about leaving. My poor hands and feet felt as though they were going to break off. We stayed for the whole thing though. Did I fail to mention we walked a mile to get to it??? (And it was actually 1 mile b/c we clocked it the next day. ) YES MA'AM/SIR WE DID!! That was actually okay though because it helped warm me up.

Some kind of something that was acting like a fool. It was a trip to watch. He gave a girl sitting in front of us a lap-dance. As much of one that this large creature could do anyway. :)

My child would have loved the train. But it was nice to know he was warm and cozy in the cabin!!
