Drawing a blank

No one is safe when it comes to me calling them out or telling a funny story on here...... so it's my turn!  I'm calling out myself on being not so sharp tonight.

We cooked out with our next door neighbors tonight.  Not much is better than walking next door in whatever we happen to have on, throwing burgers on the grill, letting the kids run/play in the yard and just chilling out with friends.  We were snacking on some chips while the food was cooking.  Baby Boy kept wanting to eat a chip.... so TH was getting ready to give him a tiny bite.  I stopped him and wait, "WAIT! What's in that?  What's a chip made from? Is it made from wheat?"

Mr and Mrs Neighbor just looked at me.  TH was confused.  I was looking at the 3 of them like... HELLO! What's so difficult about that question?!  HAHAHAHAHA

Mr Neighbor, "Ummm. They're made from potatoes....potato chips.  Some are made from corn.... corn chips"

No, I'm not kidding.  I'm so concerned about Baby Boy not eating wheat that a potato chip coming from a potato just didn't register.  If you've never paid attention, start..... wheat is in EVERYTHING.  Except for potato chips! (There is more wheat is not in of course.  Please note that was said with heavy sarcasm!!)

We're still not positive that Baby Boy has a wheat allergy but as of now we are playing it safe.  He only eats fruits, veggies and meat.  And a few potato chips.... after his mama realized they don't contain wheat.  I promise I'm a fairy bright person.  Just didn't show tonight.  Yes, I'm dead serious this is the way the conversation went down.  We all have our "moments" and tonight I had mine.

You know, in the moment, it is very easy to forget this type of stuff, isn't it!? I may or may not have done similar things! And like you said, wheat is in everything, except for corn!

Actually, some chips are a blend and include wheat. FYI.
