This is our life

Conversation between my darling husband and myself at lunchtime today........ (as I was waiting on him at a local restaurant for an impromptu lunch date.)

Hubby: Are you there yet?

Me: Yes (I admit a little snippy b/c I've gotten these calls before changing plans....aka Hubby can't make it because plans changed in a span of 10 flippin minutes)

Hubby: I'm watching this car. If it pulls in, we're going somewhere else to eat.

Yes, my darlin friends.......This is my life. Due to my husband's job, where we go and who is there can sometimes change things. Another instance......

Hubby and I were out shopping at a local mall (actually in a neighboring town..NOT even our own town). He went into a store next to one I was making a purchase. When I wrapped up my business, I went next door to locate him. Something actually caught my eye, and I didn't walk directly up to Hubby. The next thing I know......he walks behind me like he doesn't know me says, "Leave. Start walking and I'll catch up in a few." For those of you who know me...... not a good follower. :) But in this instance, I knew of his tone of voice it was serious and he wasn't just playing around. When we hooked back up...... I asked what that was all about. "Someone I've dealt with and someone who doesn't need to know we go together."

Next time..... We went to the NEXT town! :) And this is partly why we eat at home a lot. If we want to spend time with friends, we will normally just cook out at the house to make life simpler. Or go to nice restaurants where Hubby's clientele won't be!
