A fellow blogger, Sara, posted something that made me start thinking.......thinking specifically about my little boy as he gets older.
What type of 7 yr old will my little boy be?
What type of 13 yr old will he be?
What type of 18 yr old will he be?
There is so much pressure in being a parent. This little boy that I have been blessed with..... I am shaping him now (at 20 months of age) into what he will become 18 / 20 / 30 years from now.
My hopes and prayers for my child.... to live a long, healthy, happy life; to trust in the Lord always; to have friends whom he can trust and rely on; to know his parents might not always agree/like things but will 100% always have his back; that you will pay the consequences for doing wrong [I will not bail my child out of wrong doing; will support him but make him realize wrong is wrong]; to know a true-love.

Oh! And the laundry fairy showed up today (aka my MIL). Lil Man is now more rotten after being spoiled by her and his granddaddy for the day.....but all the clothes in the house are clean. Guess I can't complain too much??!! [grin] The good thing..... he was so TIRED from being spoiled that he was zonked about by 8:30.

Can the laundry fairy come to my house too?
It's one of the hardest/scariest things for me as a parent....I want so much for my daugther to grow up to be a good person. I"m doing the best I can, but I always question if how I'm parenting will cause her to tell her therapist in 30 years "This one time, my mom put me in the corner...."
All kidding aside, it's that strive to find the perfect balance of rearing a well-rounded child.
Well said, it is hard stuff, isn't it? The other night, in bed? My husband turned to me and said, "I hope we don't screw them up too bad."
Me too.
