I have created a monster!!
Said monster is my kid.....why do I call him a monster you ask?
He knows when his daddy is gone because he is a pain in the rear for me to put to bed. Seriously, this kid knows he can work his momma into rocking him and cuddling him until he goes to sleep. His daddy simply puts him in his bed, pats his back for a minute, and walks about of the room. Very, very seldom does The Hubby have to go back in to Lil Man's room..... me, not so much!
I put him down. Leave the room. Lil Man cries. I go back in to pat his back. He won't lie down. He wants to be held and cries until I pick him up. I let him cry for 5 minutes. I go back in and pick him up. He points to his blankie and then points to the chair in his room. YES, my kid is telling me to sit down with him and rock.......AND THEN.....he grabs my hand and puts it to his head. He wants me to run my hand through his hair.
Yes, I'm a lost cause. No, I never believed in the "cry it out" method. Yes, that's why I need another one so I can get it right on the second child. LOL Maybe I can use this argument with The Hubby. [grin]
This sucker of a mother is going to bed. Being manipulated by ones child is exhausting. [Yawn] But GOSH... I love my kid!!! (Side note: I did send my hubby a text saying that he was forbidden from going back into work until he had our child in bed and sleep. He replied with, "Ha Ha! Sorry. Love ya!")

Oh man...break that rubbing of the head habit now! Matt is 27 years old and every night when we go to sleep (well when he's not in iraq) he says, "Baby rub my head and my back"
Hahahaha. I see this happening to your little man's future wife!
WOW!!! He's got your number!
But, then again, just a slight change in any bedtime routine will really throw off a little one.
Who says you need words to communicate?!? Sounds like your little guy has nonverbal communication down perfectly! :)
