Crazy Neighbor

I may (or may not) have been THAT neighbor Friday afternoon.

The one you hear yelling, or bellowing, or SCREECHING AT THE TOP of her lungs.

Yep, that would have been me.

Why all the drama?

Jake (our dog).

What did he do?

I let him out to the bathroom when I got home from work Friday afternoon..........like I always do. I only started screeching once I saw where he was. He might have been left outside 5 minutes........might! I stuck my head out the door to let him back in and couldn't find him. I walked in the driveway and happened to look next door. He was at the neighbor's front door. Now this wouldn't be such a big deal if our neighbors had GRASS! But as of right now, they have RED MUD! Yeah, you heard me right. They have recently moved in and the landscaping is not yet complete. We've had lots of rain the past few days. The entire neighborhood might have heard me threaten very loudly to "beat the ever loving s$#t out of you" directly at my dog.

The funny part was. Once I got his attention, he tip-toed back across the "yard" to our yard. Ever see a dog tip toe? It was quite comical. Too bad I was mad as hell. I made him stand at the back door until The Hubby got home. Luckily for him, that was only 15 minutes or so.

Then The Hubby and Lil Man got to give Jake an impromptu bath. (We still have paw prints on our back stoop. Argh!)

Mad! That was me to say the least. And crazy neighbor, that might have described me too.

You ever been "that" neighbor?

Tractors, Swing Batter Batter, Here Duckie Duckie

I thought it was time to post some fun, random pictures of my Lil Man. We've been busy the past several weeks and I've neglected to post of the fun we've been having.
Tractors..... my child would sleep with them if we would allow him too. He was given this tractor last year and still enjoys pushing it around to listen to the "tractor" noises.

Next comes the bat...... as in baseball bat! My mom bought him a bat, ball, and tee but it was a little to heavy for him. So what does my child do.....he takes the tee and uses it as his bat. He has never been shown how to hold a bat or how to swing one. He just does it.

Look at my form! Watch out Barry Bonds......

This is hard work.....

Lil Man and my dad (Poppa) have taken to going down to our community dock and feeding the ducks. These ducks not too long ago used to be itty, bitty baby ducks. Can you tell the difference between the "babies" and their mom? It's hard!

Love the fact that my child is growing up on the lake!! Unfortunately, we live interior and not lakeside but we still get to go out a lot and enjoy the water.

After fun was had feeding the ducks, we put our child to work trimming the shrubs. LOL The Hubby and I (and my dad after we roped him into it) trimmed all our shrubs this past Saturday. Normally, the is the Hubby's job but for some reason I felt compelled to help him. The job normally takes 3 or 4 hours for one person; we knocked it out in 1.5 hours!

Lil Man is actually "trimming" with the blade cover for the trimmer. NO! We didn't allow our child anywhere near the actual trimmer. I wasn't even allowed near the trimmer.

Look! I'm getting it done!!

Moving on to more shrubs.

Now..... we just have to get him bigger and a little older so we can really put him to work!

Routine

That's what we're doing about this house the past few weeks. Lil Man has been on a loose routine for a while...... now, we're going hardcore! Well, to be more specific..... I'm going hardcore and dragging The Hubby along with me. :)

Our routine used to consist of bath, milk with a 15 minute cartoon time (sometimes he would get wound up and end up wide awake and ready to go again), and then bed. Now, it's milk if Lil Man wants it, bath and then straight into bed. He's doing really well taking his bath and just staying in his room to go to bed.

Why am I being so hardcore all of a sudden?

Preschool!!!

My baby is going to school. He starts next Tuesday. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I know this will be really good for him to be around other kids on a day to day basis..... but this means I'll be leaving him in some one's care other than my mom or MIL's for an extended time. I'm sorry I know there are good people out there but you hear so much crap on the news about mistreatment of children........ trust is difficult when it comes to trusting someone with my child.

But to "school" he goes!!

I'm already preparing myself to worry the whole 3 hours he'll be there. AND, I've already told my dad he'll never be allowed to take Lil Man to school. The man would probably bring him back home because he cried. And he will cry. That I'm already sure of. **Sigh**

Who's 2?!

Lil Man is 2!!

We had a blast Sunday afternoon partying with family and friends.

I followed the advice of many and went with cupcakes. Turned out beautifully!! So glad I went that direction. If you see my hand in the photos that's because my child doesn't' want to get his hands dirty, he wants to be fed! LOL

Opening all his wonderful gifts. They were either some form of tractors or sports related. Love it!! My boy is such a boy. :)

Lil Man had lots of help opening gifts. Loved it! And of course Jake had to get involved!! All the other kids were yelling, "Jake, NO!" Lil Man.....just giggling about it. He loves his doggy.

Here's to another year little boy!!!

A Lot

There's a lot doing on around this joint.

A lot of decisions.

A lot of prayers.

A lot of fun.

A lot of tiredness.

A lot of family time.

A lot of work.

A lot of stress.

A lot of life in general.

Where's the....

Friday mid day as I was coming home I found myself doing something that made me feel kind of foolish.

I was driving home and as I passed a pasture........ "Do you see any cows?"

As I crossed over the lake........ "Do you see any boats?"

The problem.............. I only had my dog in the car with me!!!! Lil Man was still at my mom's house. Obviously I do this so much it's ingrained that I ask these questions when I pass pastures and cross the lake. I'm happy to say that Jake (my dog) didn't respond. :)

*******************

It's party day!!! Tomorrow is actually Lil Man's birthday but we're having his party today. I got most of the prepping done yesterday. Party Time!!

Da Bomb

This little guy has been great this week. Of course, we've had our moments when the temper shows itself.....but other than that. He has been a cool, little dude.

Enjoying a cool treat on a hot day!

And for once, he's not sharing with Jake. :)

Random Ramblings

Lil Man's party is being planned. I'm going with cupcakes!! (And I'm going to make them myself because I'm being tight.)

My child is turning 2 in a matter of days! And starting preschool in two weeks!!

I'm shopping online for Lil Man's summer wardrobe for next year. Got 25 items for a whopping $100!! That would be an average of $4 per item. This is includes shipping also. Can I get a heck yeah?!

My child is turning 2 in a matter of days! AND starting preschool in two weeks!! OH MY GOSH!!

I'm also doing some online shopping for his "school" wardrobe. Do you get the idea that I enjoy online shopping? If I can click a mouse, have what I want delivered to my door, and only take 10 to 15 minutes, why would I shop any other way???

My child is turning 2 in a matter of days! AND starting preschool in two weeks!! (Have I mentioned this before? OH....well)

Lil Man and I are having dinner with Holly and the kids tonight. The Hubby is still out of town and will be until Friday. This week has gone by quickly (which I'm grateful for!) and smoothly. My child has been on his very best behavior (other than those 4 times he's been in time-out) and hopefully will continue to do so.

I need a vacation! Anywhere, USA would be nice but the beach would be even better. Just to get away and not think about anything. Enjoy time with my family and just be!

I finally gave in and joined Twitter. And I confess..... Love it!!

I took Jake (our lab) to the Vet yesterday. Never again! That job now belongs to The Hubby!! It was so not fun! I sent The Hubs a message (bc he's in class) and let him know. He can pick Lil Man's pedi appts or the dog's.....his choice!

This is completely off the wall......... but do you at times just want to thump someone in their forehead for being dumb. Seriously!! I have had the patience of a saint this week regarding a specific someone. But damn!! Come on....help a sista out already. Hence the wanting to thump in forehead. If you're not going to use it for smarts, I'll put it to use. (Insert evil laugh). But anyway......

Enough spewing! I'm out!

Cake vs. Cupcakes

I'm taking a poll!!

Lil Man's birthday is Monday. (MY BABY IS TURNING 2!!!!!....anyway).

I'm trying to decide between buying a cake or doing cupcakes. We're having a small party at our house Sunday afternoon with just family and a few close friends.

(I sent my husband a message just now to get his opinion...... "Either one. You can make either one your choose. You okay with that?")

The man is telling me to bake whichever I decide to do. ***EYE ROLL***

Back to the poll...... what do you ladies think?

I really don't like the idea of blowing out a candle on a cake that everybody is going to eat....hence the cupcakes. Individual servings. No worry of germ infestation.

CAKE VS. CUPCAKE

Dear Mr & Mrs Cow Owners

I ask this from the bottom of my heart and for my child.

Will you please move the cows back into the pasture by the road? I understand the whole moving around to keep from killing all the grass.

But....

For my sanity and my child's, just move some cows so that we can see them as we ride by at least twice a day and sometimes up to four times.

thankyousoverymuch!

In a matter of seconds

We were playing outside yesterday. The Hubby was washing his car. Lil Man was playing in the water and with his golf club caddy. And I was sitting in a chair reading a book. I can honestly say that I can sit and read but all the while know where my child is. I think it's a mom thing.

Lil Man was being watched by his daddy because he was where I couldn't actually see him. I kept my eye on my husband to see if he was actually seeing Lil Man. A minute had passed with no look. I get up and what to I see.........

MY CHILD IS IN THE ROAD. FIFTY YARDS FROM WHERE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN. Calmly pushing his caddy down the road.

I about flipped!! And took off after him.

The Hubby, "He was JUST right here!"

Me, "Just goes to show us both how quickly he can get gone."

We live in the back of our subdivision so cars should be going somewhat slowly. Some do; some don't. Lesson learned! Luckily, it wasn't the hard way.

This brings me to a question though......or statement. I think mom's watch and are more in tune to their children than dads are.

NOW.....I'm not saying my husband doesn't watch our child. He does. I think I'm just a little more annal about it though. We were having a family dinner last Monday night at the in-laws b/c some out of town family was in town. Some of us were sitting at the table after dinner having a pleasant conversation. The comment was made to me, "Does The Hubby not watch Lil Man? You keep looking every so often." Lil Man was playing with his cousins not twenty feet away (from me) while his daddy and uncle were 5 feet away from him. Yes, I was checking up on my child even though his daddy was an arm links away.

It's a momma thing!! It's ingrained!! It's going to continue to happen!!

Because anything can happen in a matter of seconds..... much less minutes.

The Easy Way Out

Remember that yummy picture I posted on Wednesday of the fabulous chocolate dessert.

I didn't go there!! Instead, I ran into the grocery store yesterday after I got off work and bought a dessert. Yes, I did! I know I know.........

I got caught up at work though and knew I wouldn't have enough time to put that bad boy together. I had Lil Man until his daddy walked in the door right as it was time for me to walk out. Needless to say..... yesterday didn't go quite as planned.

BUT....

Ladies' Night was fun! We had a blast laughing and enjoying good food.

And....

I'm so ready for the weekend!! I've got to get some serious rest this weekend because The Hubby is rollin out Sunday afternoon for the week.

Next week might just be a long one. A good thing about The Hubby being gone though..... once Lil Man is in bed I can blog and catch up with all my favorite blogs that I've neglected!!

Hope you have a wonderful Friday!!!!

This is what I'm bringing

Tomorrow night is my monthly Ladies' Night.

I've got dessert! And this what I'm bringing........

Chocolate Passion Bowl by kraftfoods.com.
I'm doing mine a little different in that I'm going to do individual servings. Probably put them in a wine glass type. It has chocolate pudding, brownies, whipped topping, and raspberries. There's fruit involved so that makes it a little healthy right?? LOL
Yummy!!
I'm already looking forward to eating some of this deliciousness!! :)

Saving some for later

Can you see the "cheese" all over his mouth?

This was yesterday's snack that consisted of Cheetos.

Lil Man just wanted to make sure he had some to snack on after snack time was over.

*********

On another note...... there is nothing funnier than watching your husband try to do yoga. Seriously, this has to be the funniest thing I have EVER seen. The Hubby is doing P90X has I've told you (I do it several days a week for specific workouts). The yoga routine is the "rest" day. Hilarious!!! He finally told me to go upstairs and leave him alone. :)
