Weekend Recap

This past weekend was M.emorial Weekend (in case you live in a cave or something. Ha!). We had a great weekend.  TH worked the whole time so that wasn't cool but the boys and I still had a blast.  LM and BB spent the night with my parents Friday night.  As soon as TSD and I got up, we headed to grab his big bros and my mom.  And off we went.

Popa had left out early that morning to go fishing at a family member's pond.  My little bro and sis-in-law were there too.  We were just one big happy family (without TH! Boo!) enjoying a fun day.

After the fishing adventure, we headed to my grandparents' house for my dad to cook the fish for everyone.  My grandmother's sister was up visiting with her daughter.  My cousin came over with her little boy, and my dad's brother was there too.  It was a full house!  I told my mom afterwards that it might have been too much for my grandfather.  I think we rocked his quiet world when descended on his house.  My boys are boys.... they play, they run, they shout.  They're good boys but again... they are all boy! And it's not like my grandparents' house is all that child-friendly.  The boys play, and I spend my time running around behind them making sure they stay out of trouble. Ha!

After a long day of fishing and being with family, we set off for home.  The boys and me! I had an hour drive to get home.  Normally, being in the car doesn't bother me.... but I guess since it had been such an exhausting day, I was feeling the exhaustion.  I pulled through a drive-thru to grab a C.oke to give me enough boost to get me through the drive, baths and bedtimes.  I even had to text a friend as I was pulling into our subdivision and apologize.  I was going a little too fast and made the turn a little to sharply.  My text said, "Sorry! For coming in on two wheels.  It's crazy up in this car!"

Sunday morning I had the boys up, ready and off to church.  I will even say we were early too!! And if you know me (or me with my husband) we are very, rarely early.  We spent the day playing and hanging out.

Monday...... the boys proudly flew their flags on their tractors!

By Monday afternoon, TH finally got to spend some time with us.  The boys showed him their flags that Nana and Popa had rigged up.

So that's what we did.  Be grateful for what we have and where we live.... grateful for those that gave their lives for us to enjoy the simple things.

Yeah, boys are loud and busy! Fun though! I am glad you had a great weekend with them! I come in on two wheels on a regular basis...I'd be doing a lot of apologizing!
