Snow..... Southern Style!

8".... that's how much snow we had.  It's been so much fun!  I know.... some of you folks get 8" and think it's nothing.  It's BIG stuff 'round these parts!

I begged TH to go out and get pictures before we went out and played.  I didn't want to see sledding paths and footprints everywhere.

Time to play!!

Baby Boy and I getting ready to sled down the hill.  I was pumped!  This time last year when it snowed I was pregnant with this little guy.  This year...... we both get to play!

Lil Man's heading down the hill.

Carrying one child while trying to help another.  This is exhausting stuff that's for sure!

 Time to go again!

And out comes the 4wheeler.  Yep, that's me!  LM and my dad are pulling me.

Even Jake got in on the fun.  Truthfull, he played more and harder than the kids.  He was worn out by the end of the day.

Time for TH to have some fun.  Snow knows no age!  It brings out the kid in us all.

Family shot!  Baby Boy had enough of the cold.  I only stayed outside for 15 mins or so with him.

My parents came over to play in the snow with the boys.  As they were leaving, of course LM wanted to go with them.  I was worried about him getting stuck at my parents' house.... but I let him go.  10 mins after they left, my Dad calls needed TH to come pull him up a hill in our neighborhood.  He did.  I called them about 30 mins later to make sure they made it home.  They had..... ONLY they couldn't make it in drive way.  Dad had to get a running start to make it up another hill.  He got up it and then couldn't stop.  TH had to go pull him out.

Lil Man and Nana built a snowman

This was our snow days.... Southern style.  So much fun!!

Halloween

This is the only picture of I have of Halloween. I know..... I know! But darn it, trying to take care of a 2 yr old in the rain is not the easiest thing in the world. I'm hoping the crew we were with will have a couple they will share.

This picture was taken before the rain started. We were just loading up after dinner to hit the neighborhood.

There were three families in the "hood" that had dinner together. My dad provided the truck and trailer so he and my mom came to dinner then were our chauffeurs.

The day started off raining. We honestly thought the whole trick or treating deal was going to be a wash. Honestly, Lil Man is not old enough to understand what he was missing out on so I wasn't overly worried. BUT...... THE SUN CAME OUT!! Around 3:00ish, the yucky weather moved out and we thought we were in the clear.

WRONG!

Don't we all look so happy and clean in the picture. Well, that didn't last long. The rain started right after we loaded up. We looked like a bunch of drowned rats when it was over. The whole crew got soaked but the kids were having a blast so we just dealt with it.

Lil Man was dressed in his camo........ he was a hunter. I thought it was very fitting since he has an obsession with hunting now. And I was a cheapo. :)

Weekend in review

WOW! What a weekend! It was a little crazy but packed with fun. Lil Man made me proud and slept until 9 o'clock Saturday morning. The Hubby had to go into the office for a couple of hours so Lil Man and I were lazy.

Here he is enjoying his morning cup of milk. (In my bed....)
We snuggled for a while after he woke up and watched some cartoons.

He was telling Jake to get out I think. He woke up being bossy!! :)

This is the picture about the "storm" I was predicting Saturday night. The whole no nap issue was concerning me!! At the last minute, The Hubby asked me to follow him into town. Lil Man and I got in the car and within 10 minutes he was asleep.....this was at 5:30 or so. (YES!!) When we got back home, I put him in his bed to sleep a little longer. We were supposed to be at our party at 6:30 but I made an executive decision to be a little late and let Lil Man sleep a little longer. THE EVENING WAS GREAT!! (And getting a late nap worked really well b/c we didn't get Lil Man to bed until midnight.)

Sunday...we spent the day on the lake. And it was GREAT!! This is what Lil Man did the entire time......snoozed!

Is he not the sweetest thing ever??!!

HA HA!! I got a pedi Saturday morning. Every time I looked at my feet it made me smile!!
Yes, that's my flip flop line. [grin]

The Hubby chillin!

This was our view for ......oh about 3 hrs.

I'm looking rough!!! Please forgive me.....but it was soooo nice. This might be bad but it worked out great that Lil Man slept the entire time. The Hubby and I got to enjoy some quiet time.

TWO hours later! My boy wakes up.....lookin rough like his momma.

Fishing in the backyard while waiting on dinner.

Acting a nut!! This child got to acting crazy last night. We had some neighbors over for BBQed ribs, and they brought homemade strawberry ice cream. (I think I gained 5 lbs from all the good food we had this weekend. Time to get bathing suit serious!!)

Now.....back to work. Because it's a manic Monday.

"You get a line, and I'll get a pole..Honey"

..you get a line and I'll get a pole...Babe. You get a line and
I'll get a pole...we'll go down to the crawdad hole....honey, baby oh
mine."

This is one of those random "songs" I have stuck in my head. Where it came from? Who the heck knows? My dad bought Lil Man a fishing rod because he was always wanting to play with his Poppa's. Well....the weather wasn't exactly lake weather this weekend, so....we improvised! [grin]. Lil Man practiced with his new rod in the backyard.....with his ever present sidekick, Jake.

A daddy showing his little boy how it's done.
(Obviously, you can see the house under construction in the background. We're getting some neighbors...young neighbors that is. Woo Hoo!! Our subdivision is mostly mid 40's and up. So we're excited! AND to make it even better, they have a little boy. Lil Man will have him a playmate!!)

"OK. Got my rod and tackle box. Let's do this!"

He looks so serious trying to figure it out. It amazes me what a little boy is naturally attuned to.

Getting some "help" from Jake.....these two are like brothers I swear. They annoy the heck out of each other but heaven forbid if someone messes with either one!

Practicing his cast.Ok ok..... I guess he's had enough of me taking pictures. I only took about 100. [grin] I was playing with different settings. I have to say this is a look he has probably seen me give more often than not. It cracked me up!.....but, I do think this was the last picture I took.

I have to give The Hubby a shout out. I am normally the one doing all the photo taking (unless we pay someone to do family shots that is!) He actually took several pictures BUT I had not showered for days! (JK JK!!!) I had showered but hadn't washed my hair so we'll just pretend those didn't take place. That's the good thing about this blog..... I can put what I want and say what I want.

Sneak Preview

We had a family photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to give a sneak preview of some of my favs of Lil Man.

I have to say normally I like black/white photos better....but this time, the color ones are the best!! I guess b/c it's spring time and the bright grass with Lil Man's polo is just too cute.

The last photo is Lil Man with his two cousins. They were having a blast running down the hill. Lil Man had a hard time keeping up with his little legs! :)

Happy Easter

My little family on Easter!
I have to say these two fellas are my loves!!!

My child does NOT understand the concept of PUTTING the egg in his basket. He would much rather THROW them as FAR as POSSIBLE!!

Today was a day filled with family time. We spent the afternoon at my grandmother's having lunch and hiding/finding Easter eggs.

Lil Man and his Aunt B

Trying to understand the concept of SHARING.
This is something we have to work on for sure!
