Lil Man and I hit the ground running this morning. He slept in until 8:30 which is abnormal but he had a rough night again so I guess he was still tired.
The Hubby left early to go fishing with my dad so it was just my baby and me this morning. We got breakfast knocked out and then went for a walk with Jake. AFTER, I saved a baby turtle from Jake. ( I looked out the back door and saw Jake digging at something. I
just thought he was digging a hole in the grass so I went out to stop him. He wouldn't stop so I went closer and saw a baby turtle on the ground. The poor thing was huddling in his shell.)
When we got back from our walk, Lil Man was playing in the backyard. I was just sitting there chilling not doing anything. Then I get this bright idea to pull out the push mower and cut the grass. We have a riding mower but I don't have a clue how to work it. SO..........our backyard isn't that big, so I pushed it. About 2/3's done, Lil Man wants me to hold him. What's a mommy to do???? Leave the grass half
ass ed cut or finish cutting????
I picked up Lil Man, threw him on my hip, and finished cutting with grass. Yea Yea Yea.... I know. Probably not the safest decision I could have made but I was very attentive to what I was doing. But cutting grass while holding a toddler.....NOT SO EASY!! My neighbors probably thought I had lost my mind.
Lil Man and I then played on our fresh cut grass until his little temper got the best of him and we went inside. Lunch was taken are of; The Hubby came home from fishing. It was nap time!!
1.5 hrs later....nap over; MIL and
FIL are here ready to go to a local Memorial Day celebration. Bands, local artists/crafts, and food. Met up with some friends and hung out. Went to dinner and rolled up back at the house around 9
ish.
Hubby is still working. :(
BUT.......Monday off for Memorial Day and Friday is date night. We have plans with two other couples.
And the best part.... we all have sitters lined up for ALL night!!!!
LOL I'm excited just thinking about it. We
don't' have a
curfew and can stay out as long as our hearts desire. Grandparents are keeping all the little ones so we know they're safe, it's free, and it's game on.
