It went like this

I got home with Lil Man after work yesterday and what did we do. We stayed outside from 4:30 until 8:30....with a 30 min dinner break! :) My child is so content and happy to be outside so that's what we did. The Hubby got stuck at work unexpectedly so he was out of the picture. Let me say though..... I've got a kickin tan from spending 2 hours or more outside EVERY afternoon.

After our dinner break, I tossed Lil Man in his jogger and off we went for a jog. OF COURSE, Jake went with us for part of it. :)

My baby is cheesing with me!! :) I figure I never get in photos so I was going to remedy that even if it meant I had to hold the camera myself.

Tired after his LONG jog. ha ha. Gotta take a rest.

Since we had dinner kind of early, I had thrown some cookies in the oven. Having a after bath before bed snack.....who doesn't like chocolate chip cookies with a big glass of milk??

Something is in the air

I don't know what it is......this summer weather with beautiful sunshine filled days are F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!! My darling husband can probably tell you that I'm one happy, laid back lady these days. If something comes up that would normally send me flying off the handle, I react with calm acceptance. I deal with it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm still a hot head but reserve it for when I really need to use it. [grin]


Things at work have not been the most fun nor stress free the past couple of months. It's a dog eat dog world in the construction business. And stressful is putting it mildly!

But seriously, I don't know if I've found some sort of inter peace or just a true happiness or what. Lil Man and I come home each day, put on "play" clothes (I've actually been putting on my bathing suit to work on my tan), and go outside to spend the afternoon. We do this until The Hubby comes home and then we all hang out for a little while before dinner. Bath time and bedtime are smooth. Then The Hubby and I chill together and enjoy the peace and quiet for a little while! My parents have been coming over a couple of nights for dinner then we'll go on a boat ride. Friends will come over for dinner and we'll hang out and let the kids play.

I think I'm just enjoying the "simple" life. We've slowed down....not always on the go.....and can tell a big difference in all of us.

We had a blast with friends Friday night!! Then got to sleep in Saturday morning....fabulous!!

Yesterday and today, we spent each day, all day being outside. Washed cars. Played with the hose. Went for a boat ride. Just enjoyed being together and hanging out!

We had tiring weekend spent outside having fun!

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's......

Ok, so it's a plane. Actually, multiple planes.....with a few helos thrown in. Our local county airport had a "Fly In". It was a fundraiser for the Human Society.



My child had a blast!!! The Hubby and I enjoyed ourselves too but Lil Man loved it!

I have to mention this couple. They flew in after the Fly In started. One of the airport employees mentioned that they are in their 80's......Yes, you heard me correctly! 80 some odd years old and still flying planes. The gentleman told someone we with that he had been flying since 1933. So I just couldn't resist giving them a shout out.

Day in the sun

We have had an awesome weekend!! The three of us (well, four if you count Jake) spent the whole weekend together. This doesn't happen all that often so when it does.....special!

We left yesterday late morning to head to the In-laws' for the day. We had lunch with them and let Lil Man and Jake run around and play outside in the beautiful, warm sunshine. The Hubby and I sneaked off for an hour or so. We were in our college hometown where both the Hubby and I went to school. We headed over to the softball field to watch them play and meet up with some girls I played ball with. It was nice to see some peeps I haven't seen since I graduated and watch a little collegiate softball.

Lil Man and Jake both wore themselves out running around and barely slowing down all day long. It was nice to see my little was happy as a clam!! (Not that he isn't most of the time but he loves him some outside!!)

Today was spent the same way for the most part. We headed to church, lunch with my parents, home to nap..... then playing outside! We even went for a stroll as a family after Jake and I had put in our serious walk..... we stopped back by the house and picked up The Hubby and Lil Man and strolled the neighborhood for a little bit.

It's been in the mid 70's for the past few days..... tomorrow mid 50's and by Tuesday mid 40's. Can you say sucks!!

Play Day

I'm at home today...... playing with Lil Man. We're having a play date together.....all day long. :)

My mom called first thing this morning saying she woke up with some kind of stomach bug. The Hubby had meetings all morning, so I'm the one staying at home.....with a healthy little boy playing and hanging out!!! :)

It's a beautiful day so we're playing outside and watching the tractor next door working on the footings for our soon to be neighbor's house.
